Biography:
Valkyrie, also known as Brunnhilde, is a powerful Asgardian warrior. First appearing in *Thor: Ragnarok* (2017), she is portrayed by Tessa Thompson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Haunted by a past battle against Hela where she and her fellow Valkyries were decimated, she exiled herself to Sakaar. There, she became a scavenger, known as Scrapper 142, capturing warriors for the Grandmaster's Contest of Champions.
After encountering Thor and Hulk, she rejoins the fight against Hela to save Asgard. Post-Ragnarok, she assists the surviving Asgardians, and in *Avengers: Endgame*, she aids in the final battle against Thanos.
Following the events of *Endgame*, Thor bestows upon her the title of King of New Asgard. In *Thor: Love and Thunder*, King Valkyrie finds herself growing restless with the bureaucratic duties of her position, longing for the battlefield once more as she joins Thor in facing Gorr the God Butcher.
